I’m trying to finish as many prints as I can before I leave for New York (so I can have them at A-kon). So here’s another update of Katniss in her wedding dress from Catching Fire.
Finnick and Annie from The Hunger Games. Also known as ‘all the sky fill forever.’ Moving pretty quickly on this one.

“So you’re here to make me look pretty?”

Guess what I just saw yesterday! (Click through to larger, deviantART version.)
I was quite happy with the movie! It was very fast-paced, so I don’t know if I would have understood it had I not read the books. I was a little disappointed with the visual design and the effects, but the great acting made up for it.
When drawing this, I really wanted to reference/foreshadow the Mockingjay cover.
Continuing my Hunger Games trend with some art of Gale Hawthorne! (Click through to larger, deviantART version!)
The lighting was really fun and difficult to do. Only seven more days until the movie comes out! I’ve bought my tickets for opening weekend (I’m too old for midnight screenings now *sigh*).
Gale Hawthorne belongs to Suzanne Collins.

I really like him as a character. It’s very refreshing to have the male lead who is more romantic and less athletically focused than their female counterpart.
Peeta Mellark belongs to Suzanne Collins.
Who needs six-inch heels? Flit from tree top to tree top in these charming sandals, inspired by Rue, this year’s tribute from District 11. Swathe your feet in satin as green as orchard trees, accented by our tribute’s namesake flower. Fall in love with the subtle, leaf pattern sprouting from your soles as it rises around your ankles and turns into wheat-gold braid. Let warm, agricultural sun tan the tops of your feet through the cleverly designed leaf-shaped, foot opening. Harvest a pair today! All proceeds go to silver parachutes for our little songbird, darling Rue of District 11!
I’m part of District 11 on the Capitol.pn, and I’ve decided I’m going to try for this District Style Challenge - and related “stylist” position - on Captiol Couture. Wish me luck!
I’ve actually only read the first book. So at the moment, Katniss - I love that she’s powerful and intelligent but fickle and selfish. I really like seeing how she put together her strategy in the arena. I like Cinna, too - but he is less my favorite and just more who I want to be. Haha.
My friends keep saying that I will fall head over heels for Finnick.
Who is yours?
“I am still the girl on fire.” (Click through to deviantART version.)
As promised, more Hunger Games fan art! Katniss in her interview dress. The colors and flame look folds were pretty hard to come up with - I wanted more than a simple fahion dress shot. I wanted to capture that dramatic, romantic, look.
Man, was I surprised when a headless WIP shot of this reached over one thousand notes on Tumblr. You’re a wonderful fandom!

I finished my first real drawing of the year! Going home for the holidays, I was stuck in airport for eight hours, and I finished reading the first book of The Hunger Games, and I knew I just had to draw Katniss. I love how she’s strong, intelligent and admirable, but still obviously flawed - and that she actually changes through the story.
No spoilers, please! The other two books are still unopened in my office!
Katniss belongs to Suzanne Collins.
Work in progress of the girl on fire.
EDIT: Holy shit. 460 notes. I am blown away. Thanks, everyone! How did you find this? It’s not even done! I aim to finish tonight, but it’s hard to say how far I’ll get. I’m handling several things at once, and I”m not totally happy with the smooth look I’ve got going on right now. I also am not sure how to express that it is “covered in jewels” like in the book. :(
By the way, whoever commented on her toned shoulders, you made me laugh really hard, out loud, at work - ;D well, she is an archer! (and I liked toned women).
EDIT AGAIN: 1,120 notes?! This is record-breaking! Thank you so, so, much to the entire Hunger Games fandom. You guys are awesome! Are you as excited as I am for the movie?!
